To act as an assistant to the Plant Superintendent in all matters involving the Maintenance and production work performed on the 2nd shift.   Has the ability to stand in for the Plant Superintendent in that persons absence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures.  In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

 

  • Employee must have working knowledge of the plant operations in all Maintenance and production areas.

 

  • Reviews production orders and maintenance schedules in order to plan plant second shift operations.

 

  • Follows production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

 

  • Confers with department supervisors/managers to determine status of assigned projects and to resolve problems affecting production and maintenance schedules.

 

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

 

  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

 

  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

 

  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

 

  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.

 

  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.

 

  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.

 

  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production and maintenance data.
