Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer Level II / CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring product quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Process Development and Optimization:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including assembly, machining, and fabrication operations.
  • Analyze production workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline operations and increase productivity.

CNC Programming:

  • Develop CNC programs for machining operations based on engineering drawings,
    specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Optimize tool paths and machining parameters to maximize efficiency while
    maintaining product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs to resolve machining issues and optimize
    cycle times.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and resolve process-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address equipment malfunctions, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and work cell layout optimization to enhance workflow efficiency and throughput.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, conduct process audits, and implement preventive measures to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
  • Analyze manufacturing data, identify trends, and drive corrective actions to address non-conformities and improve product quality and reliability.

Documentation and Training:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans.
  • Provide training to production operators on new processes, equipment, and quality requirements to ensure adherence to established procedures and standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous learning activities to enhance technical skills and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and CNC programming roles, preferably in a precision machining environment. 
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, GibbsCAM) and G-code programming.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining principles, tooling selection, and machining best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, processes, and challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
