Production Supervisor (Forge department) Summary

Supervise the Forge production operations in assigned areas to produce product; plan, schedule and assign work in such a manner as to produce the product within quality and cost objectives; investigate and resolve problems; observe and review operations; recommend changes involving equipment and work methods; answers grievances; takes disciplinary action when required; coordinates activities between departments; keeps supervisor informed; performs other duties as directed.

 Essential Functions

Lead, supervise, evaluate, and coach personnel to maximize efficiency and the quality of the work performed.

Review equipment operations to ensure reliability. 

Ensure all manufacturing requirements are met.

Effectively communicate company and department goals, achievements, problems, solutions, practices, changes, and enforce all company policies, rules, and regulations.

Maintain a world-class safe, clean and organized environment.

Maintain high ethical standards and integrity.  Conduct all operations in a professional and businesslike manner.

Complete and issue production, maintenance, and project status reports and memos as required.

Assist as needed by conducting (teaching) in-house training (safety, operational, quality, maintenance, and orientation) classes for employees.

Work with operators and maintenance to troubleshoot equipment performance/quality issues and causes for breakdowns.

Additional Responsibilities

Run reports in SAP to track and move material through the Department.

Confirm missing PEAK confirmations in SAP as required.

Add EO’s in SAP if clerical personnel are not available to assist.

Maintain level of consumables, supplies, tools, and parts by monitoring usage and using Storeroom reservations in SAP or ordering through the Dept. clerk.

Administer employees’ time through e-time.

Fill overtime as needed to meet production requirements.

Participate and lead continuous improvement teams with shop floor participation.

Enter maintenance notifications into SAP and contact coordinate breakdown, planned, and preventive work with the Maintenance Dept.

Issue employee discipline as required (attendance, work and quality performance, etc.).

Document and maintain employee training records.

Four-year technical degree preferred, with 3-5 years related experience

Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status in order to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.
