Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines.  Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

 

Location Profile:

Located in South Gate, Dickson Testing Company, Inc. is a full-service destructive testing laboratory serving aerospace and metallic producers worldwide. Our laboratories serve our customers with metallurgical, mechanical, corrosion, and chemical testing services. In support of these services our facility provides complete specimen fabrication, cut off services and heat treat capability.   

 

Position Summary:

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the environmental, health, and safety programs under the direction of the EHS Manager. This position will work closely with operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders to minimize health and safety risks to employees, ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, and implement corporate EHS initiatives.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g. Quality and Safety).
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Support the development and implementation of EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and PCC corporate/division initiatives.
  • Support and train employees on EHS procedures, and act as the voice of employees by advocating for their needs and concerns.
  • Lead internal investigations following work-related accidents and injuries to determine root cause/contributing factors and implement robust corrective actions to prevent future occurrence.
  • Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis for all site operations and procedures
  • Support policies, programs, and projects to address workplace hazards and environmental issues.
  • Participate in periodic EHS audits, including safety, air, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste, to verify that programs meet or exceed requirements.
  • Evaluate facilities pursuant to safety and environmental conditions. Identity areas of concern and advise management regarding interpretation of requirements and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead improvement projects to optimize the workplace as it related to environmental, health and safety.
  • Support in the generation and submission of safety and environmental reports, including TRI Form R, HMBP, Annual AQMD Reporting, Annual SWPPP Reporting, DOT Waste Manifesting, OSHA 300 Logs, etc., as required.
  • Maintain all records, training, and documents pertaining to OSHA, EPA, and PCC regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies and ensure resulting findings are corrected.
  • Manage data for Dickson Testing in Gensuite EHS management software.
  • Assist with implementation of EHS Divisional initiatives
  • Other assigned duties

 

Education, Experience, and Required Skills:

  • Associate degree in environmental, occupational health and safety or related field required; or currently enrolled in a degree program of a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field highly preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the field of environmental, occupational health and safety, or related field, is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations.
  • Talent for influencing change, leading cross-functional groups, and establishing trust with employees.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within groups to meet established timelines.
