Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of operations to maintain CNC machines, perform equipment maintenance, and oversee the maintenance of the facility.

 Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Extremely Safety conscious, practice safe work habits and maintain work areas in a 6S environment.
  • To maintain and support all facility and production related equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions on a priority basis. Analyze, identify, evaluate and troubleshoot the problems to determine the points of errors and make the necessary repairs.
  • Identify the Root Cause and Corrective Actions to take the necessary proactive measures to eliminate future equipment issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and maintenance costs and manage equipment efficiencies.
  • Ensure all work completed meets regulatory guidelines, manufacturer’s specifications and internal maintenance procedures.

 Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of machine tooling including troubleshooting and repairs of production machines, CNC and Conventional.
  • Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpretating of schematics with an understanding of feedback devices, measuring systems, relay logic, electronics, PLC, and motor controls both VSD’s and conventional.
  • Proficiency with mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatic concepts related to machine tools.
  • Coordinating and scheduling repairs with shop load and/or contractors.
  • Experience in machine alignments, and general machine tool maintenance.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of machine diagnostics.

 Required Experience and Education:

  • A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Certificate from a University, College or Technical school with the trade of Licensed Industrial Mechanic/Millwright.
