Position Summary:

The Associate Manager, Quality will oversee the activity of the Quality Engineers and CMM Personnel in the Quality Department, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality for the organizations products and development processes. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quality engineering team and CMM personnel ensuring that products or components met design and reliability requirements, assigning work to personnel managed.
  • Direct quality engineering activities and implement policies and procedures to meet business requirements.
  • Establishes crisis resolution procedures to ensure a continuous flow of products.
  • Utilizes expertise, problem solving techniques, tools, and team knowledge to drive improvements and best practices.
  • Leads and directs work for team(s) of employees as defined by business needs.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Helps maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of the company to develop quality processes, manufacturing, and training methods.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in AS9100 and internal quality management system.
  • Provides problem statement trends in a Pareto graph to task cross functional team members to support reducing and removing occurrences in failures in quality (Scrap, NCR, Rework, RMA).
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Implements, and manages processes to ensure products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to entire team.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Conduct Quality audits when appropriate and when assigned.
  • Lead process documentation and improvements in relation to inspection and Quality.
  • Manages employee time keeping, vacation scheduling and schedule overtime as needed.
  • Provide guidance to inspectors on the interpretation of drawings and routines.
  • Oversees CMM inspector training and annual Quality training as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Coordinates action items with quality engineers and process engineers, manufacturing, and all other required resources to satisfy customer needs.
  • May performs other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of assembly methods, fixtures, tooling, and fabrication methods.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance within the aerospace industry and a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in statistical analysis, process control, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Required Experience:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems; aerospace preferred.
  • 7 years’ experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment required.
  • 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Management or combination of them is preferred.
  • Experience as an inspector in an aerospace precision machine shop operation is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.

 Level of Education:

 Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university; in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $105,000 to $157,400 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
