Position Summary:
Entry level position with on-the-job training, operates both air and vacuum furnaces to melt various metal alloys used in making investment castings.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
•    To take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices while following established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment.
•    Works from melt schedules and other instructions to melt various alloys in preparation for pouring into molds.
•    Follows set process control procedures.
•    Regulates burnout furnace, molten metal temperatures per requirements.
•    Checks all gauges and instruments for proper functions.
•    Maintains a loading log on molds to be cast.
•    Checks with spectrograph for proper alloy and heat number of each alloy and determine if test bars are required for a given heat.
•    Stores all scrap metal in appropriate area.
•    Weigh full barrels of scrap and stores in designated area.
•    Assists in training lower skilled classifications as required.
•    Performs preventative maintenance functions as required.
•    Wears required protective shields, clothing, wrist supports, glasses and gloves during grinding operations

Experience & Education:
Requires the ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions normally acquired by completion of high school of GED. Training is on the job.

Required Skills  
•    Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follows and interprets instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions.
•    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
•    Ability to maintain order and chain of custody on shell molds.
•    Ability to frequently lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 35 pounds.

Desired Skills:
•    Sincere desire to learn and broaden their knowledge base thereby increasing their value to the company.
•    Performs minor maintenance and changes belts on equipment.
•    Accurately completes logs and records in a timely manner
•    Foundry skills and working knowledge of foundry processes, equipment and materials or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
•    Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20.00 to $27.72 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
