The Quality Inspector – Level 2 is an intermediate level inspector, with the ability to fully perform the role of Quality Inspector – Level 1 along with the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering documentation and apply an advanced knowledge of manual tools. The Quality Inspector – Level 2 is capable of a wide range of inspection activities to include the inspection of machined parts, assemblies, raw material, heat treat, and outside processing.

Shift:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Reporting Relationships:

The Quality Inspector – Level 2 reports directly to the Quality Inspection Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect fastener installation, sealant, raw material, simple machine parts, sheet metal parts, bushings, bearings, and standards, simple assemblies, outside processing (NDT, finishes, finish coatings, thermal processing, etc.)
  • Document FAI report
  • Document non-conformances
  • May occasionally perform special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Ability to be certified with Hardness and Eddy Current, Sealant, Bushing and bearing installation, electrical bonding, and fastener installation.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Experienced in reading and correctly interpreting complex blueprints and engineering requirements
  • Experience in applying shop math skills such as trigonometry, ability to calculate dimensions, set sine plate, etc.
  • Basic understanding of BWMS (Business Quality Management System) processes and procedures
  • Basic understanding of machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology and nomenclature
  • Completion of Bushing and Bearing installation certification/evaluation
  • Fully experienced with all basic and advanced manual inspection tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering material and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals

 

Level of Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful application must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work. The U.S. export control regulations define a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), and certain categories of Political Asylees and Refugees. 

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19 to $30 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
