Job Statement


Laser Tracker Inspectors will perform the inspection and/or first article inspection of detail components, products, and tooling (including jigs and fixtures).  They will use a Laser Tracker to conduct these inspections and will additionally be required to use conventional methods of inspection as well in preparation for or in support of Laser Tracker inspections.  These Laser Tracker inspections may be carried out at any phase of the manufacturing/assembly process.  Laser Tracker Inspectors will maintain required inspection documentation, generate, and maintain reports and provide accurate evidence of the results of their inspections on ADI planning/work order documents.  They will compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the quality of products provided the organization’s customers. They will do all the above in accordance with ADI’s established standards, procedures, and engineering requirements.

 

Candidates for this Position must possess good overall Inspection knowledge, disciplines and a willingness and capacity to best fit parts for acceptance. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience using Leica trackers using smr’s and T probes with applicable Verisurf software and technical requirements deemed necessary to perform Laser Tracker Inspection operations and tasks, in addition to completing manual inspection and documentation in accordance with ADI Procedures and Standards.  

 

Essential Functions

 

The following is a list of duties, tasks, work activities and/or functions Laser Tracker Inspectors will/may be required to perform:

 

Select items for inspection at specified (in work order/planning documents) stages of the production flow.

 

Inspect items for their compliance to dimensional, and mechanical characteristics and may occasionally or frequently (as part of their requirement to conduct conventional inspections.

 

Record and evaluate inspection reports and test data applying statistical quality control techniques.

 

Perform interim and first article inspections and completion of the required AS9100 forms and data entry.

 

Maintain records and pertinent documentation as required.

 

Create the complex programs using igies files to drive the Laser Tracker’s used to inspect items.

 

Perform additional, reasonable duties as required by supervision.

 

Specifications

 

The following is a list of skills, abilities, training, education, experience, values, interest and /or talent Laser Tracker Inspectors will be expected to posses and demonstrate:

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to perform mathematical calculations such as the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions, decimals and whole numbers.  They must be able to calculate proportions, percentages, area and circumference.

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to perform geometrical calculations and understand the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and standards.

 

Some Laser Tracker Inspectors will occasionally or frequently (as part of their requirement to conduct conventional inspections) be required to possess and demonstrate the ability to use mechanical measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and height gages and will also occasionally or frequently (as part of their requirement to conduct conventional inspections) be required to use hardness and conductivity measuring tools, perform manual inspections on surface plates or perform layout operations in support of manufacturing processes.

 

Possess and demonstrate the ability to confer with engineering in order to determine what specific inspection techniques or tactics will be best applied to guarantee and document the requirements of the customer.

 

Some Laser Tracker Inspectors will be required to have knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and ANSI/ASQG Z1.4.

Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to lift 40 lbs. and to carry that 40 lbs. for a distance of up to 20 ft.

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to follow instruction written or otherwise communicated in English.

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to meet standard attendance guidelines.

 

Must possess and demonstrate the ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area.

 

Must possess and demonstrate good computer skills and the able ability to use Word, excel and power point.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $30 to $45.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 104 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
