Position Summary: 

Level Three: Working without supervision, level three operators perform all levels of centerless grinding operations including intermediate setups. This includes the ability to hand dress grinding wheels to achieve customer specified part geometries. May serve as SME in either CNC, Manual or Auto Feeding grinding machines. 3-5 years of experience.  

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction. 
  • Identify parts to the shop traveler ensuring that all prior operations have been completed.  
  • Review and analyze blueprints, work orders and machining instructions to determine product dimensions, tooling, and to plan operational sequence.  
  • Set up machine to run job according to shop traveler’s instructions and grind sketch.  
  • Check and inspect parts completely, visually and dimensionally during process as often as possible.  
  • Follow standard operating procedures to check, test, login, logout, and grind good quality parts, coordinating with department’s supervisor or lead during the process. 
  • Receive and release all incoming and outgoing orders (jobs) in accordance with applicable Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

Required Skills: 

  • The ability to read and write English. 
  • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals. 
  • A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use. 
  • A basic knowledge of machine tools.  
  • The ability to interpret written instruction on shop travelers. 
  • Capable of setting up and running parts as required. 

 

Required Experience: 

  • 3-5 years of experience. 
  • Some knowledge of comparator, feeders and auto loaders preferred but not required. 

Level of Education: 

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $26.00 to $30.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
