ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders in providing day-to-day procurement support and assist in the coordination of purchasing activities.

  • Complete various tasks related to the inward movement of goods, supplies and raw materials into and throughout the business.
  • Works with outside vendors, engineering, operations, and/or quality to achieve sales goals and inventory control.
  • Interfaces with department managers, production, shipping/receiving department, sales, etc. to determine the status of purchased orders and communicate any issues or concerns.
  • Keeps suppliers informed of changes in the company's requirements and facilities two-way communication between suppliers and internal sales, quality, engineering and operations functions.
  • Generates and executes opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Follows up, expedites and de-expedite purchase orders as necessary to deliver on time to support the production schedule and customer required ship dates. 
  • Maintain the purchasing database.
  • Assist the Purchasing Supervisor with administrative tasks as required.
  • Assist in training new users to the purchasing system.
  • Create purchase orders and change orders as required based on company policies and budget constraints.
  • Work with accounting and/or receiving to reconcile receipts and invoices.
  • Help with other projects as needed as requested by the Procurement Manager

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Syspro Experience is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Language: ability to read and interpret documents and the ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical: In depth knowledge of accounting: with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Organizational: ability to prioritize with a a sense of urgency and business acumen
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and legal know pertaining to the job.
  • Good communication skills to deal with people internal to the company, as well as with suppliers, shipping agents, courier companies and sometimes government officials.
  • Ability to work with computers and software such as Microsoft Excel, as well as data processing skills, are valued.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $19.25 to $28.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 96 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
