Quality Supervisor


Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor will oversee a team of quality engineers and technicians to ensure the effective management of quality functions in manufacturing. This role entails both technical engineering aspects and daily team management responsibilities, including the training and development of quality engineers in design, testing, and evaluation of integrated systems for industrial production processes. Responsibilities also include human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The Quality Supervisor will also be involved in hiring, performance management, and assisting the Quality Manager in addressing significant quality issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct audits and prepare for audits by both customers and accrediting agencies (Nadcap/AS9100).
  • Lead advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) development, training, and implementation for strategic engine programs.
  • Maintain, monitor, and develop systems relating to ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP and other similar industry standards
  • Develop and maintain Quality systems with the customer and manufacturing to ensure delivery of quality products
  • Direct involvement with advanced NDT development, training and implementation on strategic engine programs
  • Drive cost improvement and productivity initiatives throughout the Quality Assurance and inspection functions
  • Work with engineering and operations to identify root cause for all internal and external non-conformance
  • Responsible for review of customer drawings, specifications, etc. to identify customer quality requirements
  • Prepare inspection instructions for radiographic, fluorescent penetrant, grain etch, visual and dimensional inspection
  • Perform audits to monitor product quality/ISO requirements and support manufacturing/inspection training activities
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service including customer issues and complaints relating to quality
  • Coordinate production procedures in cooperation with other plants to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
  • Quality investigations as required to identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes and customer issues
  • Interface with customer representative for source inspections and quality issue resolution
  • Maintain Quality Assurance records required by both the company and the customer
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs
  • Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute action plans effectively, delivering results in alignment with objectives.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with adaptability to changing situations and priorities.
  • Pragmatic and results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Material Science, or related Engineering field. MS or MBA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, airfoil specifications, Laue, and ultrasonic wall inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Pragmatic and results oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
