RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and monitors the total first article dimensional inspection process. Issues formal inspection reports determining conformance to customer requirements. 
  • Supervises Layout Inspectors, CMM programmers, and gauge services department.
  • Work with engineering, quality, sales, and customers, in the planning, scheduling, coordinating and completion of layouts in accordance with SMP and customer schedule requirements, engineering specifications and PCC SMP QSM.
  • Responsible for development of calibration routines, calibration and maintenance of layout and other dimensional inspection equipment.
  • SMP lead on development and implementation of new inspection technology such as structured light inspection.
  • Develops and approves outside layout sources when required.
  • Serves as a liaison with customer on inspection and technology development issues.
  • Development and training of layout, gauge technicians, and CMM programming personnel.
  • Assist in development and checking of layout reports.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

  • B.S. in Technical Discipline and four years' experience in inspection is preferred.
  • Layout and/or CMM programming experience (Both preferred).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Prior Supervision experience preferred.
  • CAD experience preferred.
  • Expert in use of Excel.
  • Fluent in use of Word and PowerPoint
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Excellent communicator with capability to interact with different levels of the organization, customers, and auditors.
