MISSION
To supervise and lead the Process Engineering Department in support of cost of quality and production throughput objectives of the PCC Carson City Site.
To supervise, develop, and grow direct reports in support of Individual Development Plans and Human Capital objectives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Directs process engineering staff in support day to day services on process control and producibility projects and activities to support plant manufacturing and financial performance objectives.
- Measures process engineering staff with respect to their achievements and completion of goals or projects.
- Directs short- and long-term individual development goals and plans of the process engineering staff.
- Interfaces with other plants and external technical agencies as a PCC technical expert in specified fields.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Objective: To establish and manage projects and activities that meet cost of quality objectives and support production throughput requirements.
Typical Activities:
- Identify and implement process control, product family, and/or part specific projects that meet PCC Carson City cost of quality (scrap and rework) objectives.
- Identify and implement process control, product family, and/or part specific projects that support PCC Carson City throughput and production efficiency objectives.
- Identify and implement pipeline projects that achieve a 10% reduction in COGS (Cost of Goods Sold).
- Supervise/lead the process engineering team to maintain project schedules and plans to achieve objectives.
- Where required, identify, and implement new process technologies to meet the objectives and goals of PCC Carson City.
PROCESS IMPLEMENTATION
Objective: To follow through on completed projects showing technical merit or cost savings and implement the technology into a production environment.
Typical Activities:
- To guide staff to ensure that projects, concepts, or systems are properly tested and implemented. See that correct interfacing with existing systems is accomplished.
- Works closely with other departments or plants to assure project, concert or system performance and operating characteristics meet specifications.
- Trains users of system operating procedures.
TECHNICAL CONSULTATION
Objective: To provide counsel and direction on technical subjects to individuals or departments throughout the company.
Typical Activities:
- Meets with managers, technical personnel, and others in the engineering, process control, and operations to discuss technical production problems or long-term production problems.
- Develops overall approach to meeting needs or solving key technical production problems and/or long-term production objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (advanced degree preferred) in either Material Science, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in process control of a manufacturing operation, functional usage of PLC’s, and a background in statistics (SPC or other data analytical methods).
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in the investment casting industry.
- Proven project management experience and a track record of cost reduction achievements.
- Familiarity with superalloys, stainless steels, and cobalt based alloys
Compensation and Benefits: For informational purposes only, the pay range for this role is $78,800/yr to $118,200.00/yr (USD) based on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours of paid time off every year, along with 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
