Summary:
The Inventory Specialist coordinates all activities related to raw material storage, issuing of materials to production, and maintenance of related records.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination and communication with production and inventory personnel
- Analysis and evaluation of materials and issuing of released jobs to ensure support of customer deliveries and operational performance
- Track inventory of raw material and job transactions for issuing
- Issues and delivers parts and materials
- Maintains inventory cycle counts and performs physical inventories
- Drives vehicles to transport stored items from warehouse or to pick up items from other locations for shipment
- Stocks warehouse and ensures that materials and parts in the warehouse are stored and accounted for properly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Attention to detail
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well both verbally and written
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Must be able to operate a forklift
Qualifications/Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred two to four years related experience, or combination of education and experience
- Very detailed oriented individual with good verbal and written communication skills
- Apics Certification Preferred
- Inventory management experience required, using MRP/ERP systems
- Able to read and follow complex written instructions
- Computer experience required, specifically Excel
