Summary

Provide focus, direction and leadership for the Manufacturing Engineering Functions, providing recommendations and implementing tangible improvements which align manufacturing operations with business objectives in New Hartford/Dunkirk.

Essential Functions

Will also possess oral communication skills sufficient to instruct, direct and resolve conflicts with and between employees, written skills for internal correspondence, writing or revising procedures, reading comprehension sufficient to read, interpret and properly apply specifications and procedures to achieve desired outcomes, collaboration skills to create cooperative, responsive workforce, composure under pressure enabling ability to manage effectively under pressure, through change and interruption, and the ability to anticipate and surface consequential issues and act with appropriate sense of urgency, sense of time and through organized planning to resolve.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering expertise to optimize tools, methods and resources to alleviate constraints to improve productivity.
  • Drives implementation of PFMEAs and their resultant control plans and improvement initiatives, to include SPC, shop wide.
  •  Ability to facilitate Kaizen events within the department to drive required improvements. Identifies and prioritizes improvement opportunities which have greatest potential for positively improving on delivered performance.

Develop a visual management system to include:

Education and Experience

 Incumbent will possess a BS in Engineering, business or related field or equivalent job experience.  Must have 10 years of progressive experience. Desired work experience would include responsibility which reflects success in leadership roles gained though work in a process manufacturing environment, and thorough knowledge of Lean manufacturing skills set using Theory of Constraint, Six Sigma, and Value Stream mapping.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $120,800 to $181,200 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2.5X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
