With more than 120 operations and about 20,000 employees worldwide, Precision Castparts Corp. is the market leader in manufacturing large, complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures and highly engineered, critical fasteners for aerospace applications. In addition, we are the leading producer of airfoil castings for the industrial gas turbine market. We also manufacture extruded seamless pipe, fittings, forgings, and clad products for power generation and oil & gas applications; commercial and military airframe aerostructures; and metal alloys and other materials for the casting and forging industries. With such critical applications, we insist on quality and dependability – not just in the materials and products we make, but in the people we recruit.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, this over 10 billion dollar company employs more than 20,000 people worldwide.  PCC has over 120 plants and has a presence in twenty-six states in the US and in over a dozen countries. PCC is relentless in its dedication to being a high-quality, low-cost and on-time producer; delivering the highest value to its customers and shareholders while continually pursuing strategic, profitable growth.

Effective early February 2016, Berkshire Hathaway, led by chairman and CEO Warren E. Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp.

PCC Fasteners:

Since the early days of aviation, PCC has worked closely with our customers to develop and specify the best fasteners for their applications. We’ve created new materials, designs, and manufacturing practices to satisfy an ever changing industry. Today we manufacture nearly every fastener type used in the aerospace industry - all with the careful monitoring and control of specific manufacturing practices and thorough product testing that have been our hallmark.

Located in Gardena California, Permaswage designs and manufactures separable and permanent fluid fittings and installation tolling for aerospace and defense applications.

Prepare standard computer numerical control (CNC) programs for operation of designated CNC machines including point-to-point or two axes continuous path CNC machining operations.

Be responsible to develop or revise existing standard CNC programming routines for designated CNC lathe, mill or electrical discharge machine including point-to-point or two axes continuous path CNC machining operations. Utilize a broad knowledge of CNC machine functions and limitations, of mathematics applied to work in two axes and a basic knowledge of programming techniques used for specific CNC machines.

Plan operational sequences and machining methods, and establish program format required to set up, coordinate reference points and operate designated CNC machines.

Develop standard CNC program routines for machining operations including up to two axes simultaneously. Analyze engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machining operations. Review dimensional and graphic output for coding and data processing errors, and make necessary corrections. Prepare and release drawings, instructions and tapes for machine set ups and operations. Observe initial machine operations for program adequacy, and correct programming errors.

Make some contact outside own department to correct minor CNC programming problems in manufacturing, engineering and tooling by presenting or obtaining information.

Utilize a basic knowledge of computer aided designing and machining system (CAD / CAM) including operation of on-line data terminal, auxiliary control, printer and tape punch and reader.
