Position Summary
The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their functional human resources discipline.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership team on recruitment of qualified candidates for non-exempt positions.
- Conduct and participate in coordinating and conducting new employee orientations, including company, job, safety, compliance, and benefits education.
- Organize and maintain a digital storage system for employee files.
- Work within HRMS system - Workday to enter and update employee records.
- Assist HR Manager to review employee timecards in ADP and process payroll.
- Partner with HR Manager to plan and coordinate employee engagement events.
- Maintain positive employee relations by responding to questions regarding policies, programs, benefits, and other HR related matters.
- Identify one HR-related area and project for focus over the intern/co-op period; present learnings in that area at the end of the assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education or Experience
- Must have completed at least one year of college.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or MBA in Human Resources
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and understand company policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- 3 to 6 month assignment
