The Engineering Director is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing engineering, production management, and quality control. Additionally, the Engineering Director is responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring that products are designed and manufactured to meet customer requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and equipment that meet cost, quality, and capacity requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the engineering team.
  • Maintain a positive working environment building a culture of accountability and productivity.
  • Develop competitive differentiation by ensuring team has best-in-class technical talent to innovate, help win business and solve challenging problems.
  • Establish staff performance expectations and provide regular feedback from both informal and scheduled reviews.
  • Coach, resolve conflict, and correct action as necessary to solve performance related issues.
  • Lead the design engineering team in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to understand customer requirements and ensure that products are designed to meet those requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are manufactured to specifications and standards.
  • Ensures responses to internal and external customers are complete and timely. Takes appropriate corrective actions to change content or timeliness of response as necessary.
  • Manage yearly department budget supporting both new product development and sustaining engineering teams.
  • Create, track, report, and manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Conduct all business activities with the highest ethical standards. Ensure decision making is objective avoiding any kind of conflict of interest or the appearance of conflict of interest.
  • Embrace and implement Company Environmental, Health, and Safety culture and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience with Commercial Aerospace Product Development processes preferred
  • Experience with Metal Machining, Fasteners and Progressive Stamping preferred
  • Experience with Nadcap and Aerospace quality standards and regulations
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production management, and quality control.
  • Strong project management experience and leadership skills with a strategic mind
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with other departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $183000 to $228800 US Dollar (USD) Salaried  based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 30% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company’s performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
The position will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Long-Term Incentive Program
