Primary Function:  Responsible for creating wax assemblies that meet internal quality requirements.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:        

 

  • Cleans and prepares wax patterns for assembly.
  • Assembles wax setups according to gating outline.
  • Creates assembly techniques.
  • Produces developmental setups from sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Visually inspects wax patterns for defects.
  • Inspects setups per buddy system.
  • Uses basic measurement tools to verify setup accuracy.
  • Maintains lot integrity.
  • Ensures paperwork is properly done.
  • Helps other areas as needed.
  • May be required to take hazardous waste training.

 

 

Minimum Job Requirements:       

  • Able to work in a production environment.
  • Able to read and comprehend English.
  • Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and 100s.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. continuously.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. frequently.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or
  • diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
  • Near vision requirement is Jaeger J1 in on eye, at no less than 12 inches; or equivalent, or Jaeger J2
  • in one eye, at no less than 16 inches.  Corrected or uncorrected.
  • Able to complete PCC Ogden Wax Setup Operator certifications required in grade system.
  • Able to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Willing to work overtime on occasion.
  • Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company’s attendance policy.
  • Able to meet individual productivity requirements.
  • Able to meet individual quality requirements.

Normal Working Conditions

 

  • Works under indirect supervision following established practices and clear-cut policies in the
  • performance of the majority of duties. Makes decisions when general instructions, established methods and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refers unusual problems to
  • Environmental conditions encountered occasionally include wet or humid conditions-non-weather.
  • Environmental conditions encountered continuously include fumes or airborne particles and toxic or
  • caustic chemicals.
  • Job duties may include limited hazardous waste management including transferring hazardous waste containers to the facility’s hazardous waste storage locations.  Comprehensive hazardous waste training will be required annually for those Wax Setup Operator employees engaged in hazardous waste management activities.
  • Occasional sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, balancing, stooping or squatting,
  • hearing and pushing or pulling required.
  • Frequent reaching above shoulder level, reaching below shoulder level, talking, hearing and pushing
  • or pulling required.
