Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton KY, provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton MI facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers; for the raw material needs of the Worcester MA forge Isothermal forge shop. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC).

Plant Manager

The Plant Manager will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective and measurable manner that’s consistent with safety & quality requirements.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Enforces all safety policies and procedures with team members. Drive a safety conscience culture.
  • Coordinate and manage a full complement of production and production support activities.
  • Manage full life cycle of capital projects from cradle to grave
  • Interface and work with key staff positions: Materials Management, Quality, Accounting, HR, Metallurgy, etc.  
  • Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement in the attainment of corporate goals.
  • Responsible for cost control and budget attainment.
  • Meet required customer shipping schedules.
  • Establish working effective relationship with Union leadership.
  • Establish and execute capital planning efforts supporting manufacturing

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA, with B.S. / B.A. (engineering discipline preferred) and/or extensive related work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably with capital intense metal forming/manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience managing large capital projects preferred 
  • At least 5 years at managerial responsibility with full P/L responsibility

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Results driven and action oriented; analytical skills are key
  • Computer skills: Planning systems understanding/experience 
  • Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of the Theory of Constraints.
  • Ability to see the “big picture.”
  • Ability to build a team, motivate and drive success through others
