PCC Airfoils LLC has achieved its preeminent position in the
manufacture of aircraft engine blades and vanes and is rapidly
gaining market share in the Industrial Gas Turbines industry
through pushing the boundaries of Advanced Technology. PCC
Airfoils LLC is one of only a few companies in the world that
possesses the technology and capability to cast blades and vanes
with complex, internal cooling passages out of sophisticated
superalloys for aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine customers.
PCC Airfoils LLC has the advantage of being the leader in the
production of airfoils for aircraft engines and of capturing a
growing share of the market for Industrial Gas Turbine castings.
Several new state-of-the-art casting furnaces were recently
installed in PCC Airfoils’ facilities along with new ceramic dip lines
to handle the increased volume. The dip lines feature the most
advanced technology available to ensure process repeatability,
improving yields and facilitating on-time product delivery
The SMP Operations segment
of PCC Airfoils consists of two manufacturing locations - Wickliffe and
Eastlake, Ohio.  SMP manufactures investment castings utilizing
proprietary technology for use in aerospace and industrial gas turbine engines.
Products and systems manufactured in these operations must meet extremely close
tolerance limits and adhere to customer specifications.  The operations
are expanding due to sales volume increase and this provides unique
opportunities for career growth and development:

Manages a group of quality engineers to ensure that resources are managed in a way that both customers and internal quality objectives are performed in an effective and timely manner. Will focus direct reports on continuous improvement while seeking gains in all aspects of the quality process.

  • Supervises a group of quality engineers; coaching, motivating and directing team members; assigning tasks and priorities to insure group objectives are met. Will ensure that priorities are established and met.
  • Monitor established departmental goals and objectives that support the overall business plan.
  • Interface with individual Quality Engineers in to review both customer and internal quality issues.
  • Evaluate and direct the distribution of resources as needed to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Review the established metrics to ensure that continuous improvement is being achieved.
  • Diagnose quality problems and provide technical assistance to resolve them.
  • Analyze scrap and rework problem areas to establish causes to identify the equipment and establish personnel responsible.
  • Perform other duties such as: planning and designing special control studies, control tests, methods, measurements and techniques; recommending equipment necessary to provide acceptable quality level; and analyzing customer complaints.
  • Coordinate inspection requirements on critical items manufactured by subcontractors.
  • Review and supervise all customer special requirements (preservation, packaging, cleaning, data reports, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years working in the Quality field having a significant level of responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
  • Must be team leader/player with initiative, ownership and drive.
  • Computer Skills: intermediate to advanced skills required.
  • Knowledge of SPC and machine shop gaging requirements.
Duties are complex and vary to a great extent from metrology and quality functions to managing/motivating employees at all levels to achieve/product quality work. Receives general supervision. Functions on own much of the time. Work must be free of errors because of the quality aspect. Must interface with others at all levels. Responsible for the quality of the product and its performance.
