Job Description

 

  • Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.
  • Works from prints, sketches, drawing, shop routings, machine tapes, machining procedures, shop practices, engineering and other information.
  • Sets up and operates any type of CNC machine and equipment to produce close tolerance parts in accordance with delivery schedules and man hour requirements.
  • Begins run on part and completes machining sequences, checking frequently or as required to assure conformity to required tolerances, proper dimensions and other required specifications.
  • Operates all equipment in accordance with established operational procedures, safety procedure, shop practice and sequences.  Anticipates problems and prevents damage and scrap by taking appropriate precautionary care.
  • Read and understand blue prints, micrometers/calipers and other inspection equipment.
  • Must be willing/able to flexible shifts, overtime and weekends as business needs require.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

 

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Machine shop training in mechanics, shop math, and machine procedures.
  • 2-4 years of previous experience setting-up and operating CNC Machining Centers.
  • Ability to read and use mechanical measuring devices.

Ability to work independently, with limited supervision

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
