Under supervision of Production Control Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for Analyzing and Planning customer requirements to meet contractual obligations while maximizing EBIT.

Responsible for coordinating with production supervisors and staff, Engineering, Sales, and Quality to achieve business objectives (sales goals) and inventory control.



  • Manage special projects to improve production planning system at the facility including report automation, streamlining routing changes, and developing OEE based capacity models, among others.
  • Interface with Engineering, Operations, and other PCC Structurals facilities on product transfer initiatives.
  • Aligns effort with Business Objectives
  • Able to identify challenges in supporting customer requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts of production to prevent and/or resolve issues.
  • Schedule and monitor production input and output.
  • Assist in development of new or improved manufacturing and production control systems. Statistical using excel.
  • Assertive, high profile, communicative individual.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to implement systems and communicate effectively.
  • Purchase order administration of schedule changes.
  • Keen awareness of Customer interests, Engineering factors, Quality Issues
  • Awareness of the realities of operation/production capabilities, scheduling conflicts, status of metals orders en route and inventory on hand, and other challenges.
  • Participates in long range inventory planning.

  • Ensures paperwork is properly done to document processes and maintain lot traceability requirements. Analyze part routers for flow.
  • Follows established work instructions/techniques as well as housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment.
  • Solicit orders for known demand.


  • Work closely with production control to ensure deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Maintain perpetual inventory records for raw materials and work in process.
  • Maintain backlog and bookings analysis tool.
  • Minimize front loads and double dips.
  • Analyze historical shipment yield and demand to ensure realistic forecast.
  • Monitor slow moving parts or usage changes to enable the Sales Department to spot potential problem areas and sell excess inventory.
  • Assist in the control, coordination, and monitoring aspects of the production process to achieve production, inventory reduction and delivery requirements.
  • Creates reports, schedule changes, forecasts, bookings etc.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
  • Communicates any/all challenges to timely production and delivery to Manager.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.


    • Interacts daily with supervisors and leads in the plant to discuss and resolve product issues and business matters.
    • Interacts occasionally with maintenance in the plant to discuss equipment concerns.
    • Interacts regularly with engineers, quality, customer service, and others in the plant to discuss product issues.



    • Must have patience and excellent listening skills (includes asking good questions)
    • Production Planning, purchasing and customer service experience, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing. Willingness to expand and grow within the business.
    • Three or more years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing, production; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills. Background knowledge of Engineering methods.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Detailed, accurate, and organized
    • Excellent reading, comprehension and speaking skills in English, strong negotiator, and influencer.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Able to use and/or learn job-specific systems and office equipment. Experience with SQL/Statistic is a plus.
    • Excel Spreadsheet level: Intermediate to advanced (i.e. demonstrate proficiency in Pivot Tables, V-look-ups, formulas, macros, quick look-ups and responses to clients and email, etc.).
    • Understanding of clerical and administrative processes and procedures including document structures, word processing, organizing, and filing, and prioritizing multiple requests
    • Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and 100s.
    • Able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Able to read, understand, and complete all department and/or production documents.
    • Knowledge of materials and processes used directly in Investment Casting.
    • Pro-active, self-starter, able to work without Supervision at times.
    • Analyze Layout dates/PO approval for potential delays.
    • Demonstrates good judgment to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  
    • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Makes decisions when general instructions, established methods and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refers unusual problems to supervisors.
    • Willing to work overtime.
    • Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is a must.
    • Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and others.
    • Able to meet individual productivity requirements.
    • Able to comply with company policy and procedures, including safety, quality, and attendance.
    • Exercises a high degree of care in the handling of parts to avoid damage.



    Degree preferred.

    3+ years of related experience

    APICS familiarity; certification preferred.

    Demonstrated understanding of scheduling systems, inventory management and capacity planning practices, TOC and Lean manufacturing principles.

    • Monitor all customer portals on weekly basis. Analyze, report, and communicate internally and externally.
    • Replan past due sales order promised dates.
    • Identify opportunities to close short and delete workorders.
    • Level load by customer revenue, pushout LTPO.

    For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $75100 to $112600 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
