Job Title:         IT Co-op – Specializing in Networking

 

PCC Airfoils – SMP manufactures military and commercial turbine blades and vanes for aircraft and land-based applications using different materials and super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt to cast the blades and vanes for gas turbine engines. SUMMARY

The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their computer science or engineering education.  These increasingly challenging assignments will provide an effective learning assignment for the student.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • The student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations.
  • The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility throughout his/her co-op experience.
  • Will identify and fix computer and network problems.
  • Will attend and participate in daily departmental meeting.
  • Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
  • Participate in project teams for some assigned projects.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
  • Will work on computers, printers, and the network; troubleshooting hardware issues and configuring computers.
  • Will work on troubleshooting Windows 10 and Office; also printer repair and troubleshooting

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Knowledge of computer hardware
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, VB 6.0, C#, or VB.Net is a plus
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
  • US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
