The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor controls the company’s storehouse and allocation of goods and supplies. This role is hands on coupled with administration, organization and overseeing the smooth functionality of all activities. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor leads and coordinates the activities of the department and is engaged in areas such as verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.
  • Lead the Shipping/Receiving team
  • Assist team in shipping receiving activities as required
  • Required to meet customers ship window
  • Utilize knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates 
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipment
  • Direct movement of shipment from shipping/receiving platform to storage and work area
  • Prepare bill of lading
  • Maintain and oversee records of all received goods and supplies
  • Organize shifts, manage time keeping and delegate work
  • Verify received materials with the invoice orders
  • Create and sustain a safe, clean and orderly environment
  • Recruit, regular training and performance management for team
  • Ensure compliance of all legislation and completion of necessary paperwork for the receipt of goods
  • Coordinate activities with the Purchasing Department
  • Improve business process, increases proficiency and efficiency through waste elimination
  • All other duties as assigned 
  • 2-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Diploma or degree in logistics, warehousing, operations management, supply chain management or any related field of study
  • Experience with customs and traffic as well as UPS/FEDEX/PUROLATOR online systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Exceptional computer skills, including knowledge of MS office 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to efficiently network and coordinate processes with suppliers.
  • Ability to delegate, supervise and evaluate the workings of team members.
  • Strong decision-making, leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and properly manage time
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
