Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining and upgrading production equipment to maximize operating equipment effectiveness.  

  • Oversees the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Provides input into the selection of production equipment.
  • Oversees the installation and start-up of new equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment problems using error codes, symptoms and diagnostic equipment.
  • Provide for the repair of equipment through specifying and ordering parts, arranging for outside service, installation of repair parts and follow up to ensure that the repairs were effective.
  • Evaluate, design and install upgrades to equipment.
  • Provide routine specialized preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Stays current with machine technologies used at Shur-lok.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical school education with specializing in electronics, servo-machines, machine design, etc.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals as well to write routine data on routers.
  • Ability to provide training functions to co-workers as required.
  • Knowledge of shop practices and procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
