To provide excellent supervisory leadership, efficient management and creative problem-solving to the entire facility on the off-shift. Effectively interface with all levels of personnel throughout the Worcester MA facility. Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations according to all policies, objectives, and programs spanning multiple manufacturing functions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Sole management on shift, full responsibility for the safety and well being of all employees.
  • Identify, report and resolve potential safety concerns. Drive a zero accident culture throughout the Worcester facility.
  • Ensure consistent quality standards and procedures up and down work chain.
  • Execute operational objectives with union the union workforce to meet all operational metrics. (production schedule, releases, deliveries, product quality assurance)
  • Identify and implement manufacturing improvements
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve operational issues as they arise and interface with support functions (maintenance, engineering, metallurgy, etc) to minimize unplanned down time
  • Improve and maintain a 3 shift communication link

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to drive productivity
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or machining preferred)
  • S./ B.A (engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Exposure to Theory of Constraints throughput and inventory management preferred
  • Union experience preferred

 

Shift is primarily off shift (10:00p-6:00a), week-end coverage may be necessary as issues arise or to help cover vacant openings

 


SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Ability to manage multiple, often changing, priorities across all departments.
