Effective early February 2016, Berkshire Hathaway, led by chairman and CEO Warren E. Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp.
Maintain environmental, health, and safety (EHS) measures to ensure compliance with TIMET Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs. Evaluate and recommend control measures for physical and chemical hazards. Develop an ongoing EHS process that supports Toronto’s EHS Policy.
Perform work area inspections to assure safe work practices are being used.
Develop Job Safety Analyses as needed.
Alleviate and remedy employee safety complaints and concerns,
Perform Respirator Fit Tests for all respirator wearers.
Coordinate environmental, health, and safety training for plant employees.
Perform regular department air and noise monitoring.
Develop department Hazard Maps.
Identifying and correcting safety hazards
Conduct New Hire Safety Orientation.
Provide input for the development of environmental, health, and safety procedures and programs.
Coordinate Process Safety Management – Management of Change Program
Maintain Safety Data Sheet Program.
Lead recycling initiatives to reduce TIMET’s environmental footprint.
Coordinate weekly spent acid trucks and ensure proper filing of hazardous waste manifests.
Coordinate the Asbestos Awareness and Abatement Program.
Assist Safety Manager as needed to ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance.
Bachelor’s Degree in safety or engineering, Master’s preferred, with 2-4 years experience. Desire to obtain safety certification.
Ability to respond to after hour incidents.
Participate in training to continue development of skills and knowledge.
Co-Lead Joint Safety Committee, Fire Brigade, and Emergency Response Team.
Ability to travel to TIMET NASC site to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
Lead Safety Steering Committees
Ability to Communicate Effectively with Employees, Management, and Outside Contactors
Ability to Work in Union Environment
Knowledge of OSHA and Industrial Accepted Safe Work Practices
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word)
