Position Summary:

The Position:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Specialist will have responsibility for performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with standard accounting procedures.  Activities will include processing invoices and credit notes, reconciliations, payments to suppliers, daily sales billings, and weekly time & attendance reporting.  This full-time position will be located in our manufacturing facility in Auburn, MA.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process invoices and credit notes.
  • Match invoices with PO’s and process in system
  • Payment of suppliers and expense vouchers.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts to statements.
  • Prepare weekly headcount report and payroll journal entry for approval.
  • Process billings daily from packing slips.
  • Process manual billings and credits as needed.
  • Deal with supplier queries.
  • Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare reports and analysis as required.
  • Support SOX compliance.
  • Good working knowledge of all company accounting procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and policies.
  • Assist in other accounting tasks when required or any other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Assistant Facilities Compliance Officer (AFCO).

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-2 years accounts payable experience ideally gained in a manufacturing environment.
  • A primary business/commerce degree is desirable.
  • Be proficient in MS-Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP Systems.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures, per GAAP.
