*This is a night shift position, 6pm to 4:30am*
*Training on day shift is required*
Position Summary:
Tool room techs/setters will work with little supervision to complete presetting operations. This requires a basic understanding of presetting procedures using specific presetting machines. These techs must have an intermediate understanding of tool geometry and specifications including tool numbers and gauge length. Tool setter will use heat shrink fit machines to set tool lengths to critical dimensions. They will perform intermediate visual inspections of cutting tools and validate tool layouts. They must also demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to perform tool crib functions including maintaining logs and inventories as well and organizing received and returned tools. This position typically requires 1-3 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completing tool presetting operations using an intermediate level understanding of tool geometry and following tool number and gauge length specifications
- Maintaining tool crib logs and inventories
- Communicate with manufacturing personnel and verify tool order requirements for the manufacturing schedule
Required Skills:
- Ability to follow written and oral instruction
- Basic computer skills
- Intermediate pre-setter operations using an understanding of tool geometry and specifications
- Knowledge of inventory processes
- Strong shop environmental and safety awareness skills
- Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Required Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience
Level of Education:
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
