Position Summary:

The Sales Engineer (SE) supports business development in an aerospace manufacturing company. The SE develops and maintains relations with customers by understanding problems and providing solutions via quotations, proposals, presentations, and technical interfaces.  The SE analyzes opportunities and makes recommendations to secure more business and develop new product roadmaps focusing on fluid fittings products. The SE works intimately with both inside and outside sales and plays a key role in PCC’s aggressive growth strategy.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Quotations and Proposals in response to customer RFQs
  • Performs technical review of customer specifications
  • Comply with customer RFQ specification and ensure flow-down to internal departments.
  • Makes recommendations for product solutions, with all appropriate remarks and exceptions
  • As appropriate, discusses solution recommendations with Outside Sales, Engineering, and customer in order to provide best solutions for customer
  • Recommends pricing and margins based on overall knowledge of products, markets and customer needs
  • Ensure data integrity, as it relates to pricing, cost, and contracts
  • Keeps informed of industry and market trends and requirements in order to provide input into new product innovations and anticipated customer demands
  • Correspond with customers and representatives on pricing, availability of product, and quotes as directed by management
  • Works with product engineers and sales team to build and analyze cost price for new and special products to maximize volume and profitability. Support marketing to perform margin analysis on existing products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; JDE experience
  • Math Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume

Experience & Education

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in a business/manufacturing environment
  • Fluent with the MS Office suite
  • Must possess strong sales order administrator skills for difficult or sensitive customer situations and response promptly
  • Must demonstrate aptitude for creative problem resolution; conflict resolution, negotiating, persuading and speaking with others as wells as responding appropriately to all levels of the organization
  • Cooperative, positive, courteous and professional behavior and conduct is essential
  • Must possess a high degree of interpersonal skills in order to facilitate a team environment
