SUMMARY

Under supervision of the Plant Engineer and leads from both the Plant Engineering and Maintenance departments, the engineering intern will focus on the activities involved with researching, designing and implementing new equipment and systems, retrofits to existing plant equipment and plant facility repairs and improvements. The engineering intern may also be expected to provide engineering support to maintenance activities throughout the plant.

 

A candidate with a mechanical engineering background will focused on mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems and use Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to prepare 2D and 3D drawings and layouts for fabrication and install. A candidate with an electrical engineering background will use AutoCAD electrical to develop and revise control designs through schematics, single line drawings and panel layouts, and will be involved in programming PLC and Human Machine Interfaces at the direction of the Electrical Engineers and Plant Engineer. Candidates with both backgrounds will be responsible for install supervision and leading or assisting in commissioning activities.

  • Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member.
  • Assist with the design, development, integration, and testing of new and retrofitted equipment and facility upgrades.  
  • Plan and lead research investigations to collect data and develop equipment and facility specifications.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, production and quality departments.
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct requirements.
