Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern (MEI) contributes to the success of Avibank by working with Manufacturing Engineers and Leadership teams in the design, development, and update of manufacturing processes, tooling, work instructions, routers, travelers, and projects in methodologies to achieve business objectives.

This internship is on-site and can be part-time (20+hours/ week) or full-time, with the schedule determined based on availability and course load.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to understand and document existing work procedures. 
  • Updates work instructions, routers, and travelers as required.
  • Conducts and documents necessary training with manufacturing personnel relating to work procedures.
  • Assists in defining more efficient manufacturing processes for controlling product quality with optimal manufacturing throughput.
  • Partners with manufacturing personnel to create documented video training for various machining assets.
  • Assists with continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through defining new manufacturing tooling and procedures.
  • Partners with personnel of designated support area(s) to contribute, lead, and achieve 6s projects.
  • Creates presentations to report out on current projects to Leadership team.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform and interpret statistical analyses.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam, and Vizio.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $31.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0  hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
