Position Summary

The Driver is expected to follow and execute predetermined routes to move material between facility buildings and local suppliers and customers. While a class A license is not required for drivers, a clean driving record is required of all drivers. Drivers will demonstrate an ability to perform a daily vehicle inspection, read shippers, and verify that their load is aligned with the records in hand. They must also be able to operate a forklift and have the ability to safely load and unload material onto their truck as well as perform a thorough visual inspection verifying that there is no identifiable part defects or damage. Typically 1-2 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections
  • Read shippers and verify load for accuracy
  • Operate a forklift
  • Safely load and unload material onto truck
  • Perform visual inspection to verify no defects or damage
  • Observe all safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with packaging as appropriate
  • Receive in all OSP product orders
  • Match the delivery QTY to PO QTY
  • Report any shortages to OSP Buyer
  • Will be required to read and understand Safe Operating Procedures
  • Will be used to package parts for outside processing and/or shipments when not making deliveries or shipments
  • Must be able to verify the accuracy of shipments (part number, number of pieces, safe packaging) using shipping documents
  • Must be able to verify the accuracy of parts leaving facility for outside processing using purchase orders
  • Must be open to cross training
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to be forklift certified
  • Ability to read and comprehend shipping documents
  • Ability to verify part quantity and perform visual inspection for defects or damage

  • Punctuality
  • Current and valid operator’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum of two (2) years licensed driving experience
  • Less than 2 moving violations within the past 5 years, e.g.. speeding, violation of right of way, etc.
  • No preventable accident(s) within the last 5 years
  • No felony convictions involving a motor vehicle within the last 7 years
  • No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years
  • No serious violations of motor vehicle safety or judgment within the past 5 years

Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience
