With more than 120 operations and approximately 20,000 employees worldwide, Precision Castparts Corp. is the market leader in manufacturing large, complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures and highly engineered, critical fasteners for aerospace applications. In addition, we are the leading producer of airfoil castings for the industrial gas turbine market. We also manufacture extruded seamless pipe, fittings, and forgings for power generation and oil & gas applications; commercial and military airframe aerostructures; and metal alloys and other materials for the casting and forging industries. With such critical applications, we insist on quality and dependability – not just in the materials and products we make, but in the people we recruit.

PCC is relentless in its dedication to being a high-quality, low-cost and on-time producer; delivering the highest value to its customers while continually pursuing strategic, profitable growth.

In 2016, Berkshire Hathaway, led by Chairman and CEO Warren E. Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp.

  1. Identifies, prioritizes, and implements process improvements that will deliver achievement of daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics in the area of safety, quality, throughput, delinquencies, productivity, first pass yield, and variable cost.  This is done by utilizing statistical analysis, Lean/Six Sigma tools, acceptable engineering techniques, and process knowledge.
  2. Join teams of experts to determine root cause of top failure modes, determine and implement corrective actions, and conduct follow-up to ensure compliance and the continued achievement of performance targets.
  3. Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance and purchasing leaders to manage, direct and coordinate all process activities needed to maximize productivity and minimize cost while achieving safety, quality and throughput targets.
  4. Establish sequencing, inspection criteria, tooling, gages and fixtures needed to produce products that meet customer requirements.
  5. Develop standard work instructions needed to improve safety, increase quality, reduce machine downtime, increase productivity, reduce scrap and eliminate delinquencies.
  6. Aid in developing and implementing capital improvement projects to provide cost savings and improve throughput.
  7. Work closely with finance and materials management to ensure correct manufacturing costs, process routings, and bill of materials.
  8. Ensure employees are trained on production procedures and practices.
  9. Work with purchasing and suppliers to improve process reliability and lower costs.
