The Material Handler will be responsible for the setup of mill fixtures on Numerically Controlled Milling Machines. Working closely with Machine Operators and Manufacturing support personnel they will properly affix, align and otherwise “load” mill fixtures onto machine tables. They will additionally be responsible for “loading” material, forgings, and partially machined work pieces onto these mill fixtures in accordance with setup instructions.
Essential Functions
The following is a list of duties, tasks, work activities and/or functions the Material Handler will/may be required to perform:
Prepare machine tables for the placement of mill fixtures.
Prepare mill fixtures for placement onto prepared machine tables.
Perform minor maintenance to mill fixtures (apply oil as preservative, repair threads using thread die, stone scarred surfaces, etc.
Operate overhead cranes
Select and use the appropriate slings or other lifting devices (shackles, eye bolts, etc.) for use when applying mill fixtures or parts to machine tables.
Operate milling machines when necessary to support setup functions.
Select and apply appropriate clamps, bolts, vacuum supplying pumps, etc.
Remove and replace parts from mill fixtures
