Position Summary:

This position at PTG Reed will perform a variety of ID and surface grinding machining operations as part of regular operations. This is a first shift position where the candidate will work in a team environment to grind and finish parts as needed to the client specifications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set machine controls to maintain optimal quality and run rates.
  • Work to close tolerances by grinding of different grade materials, both flat and round/turned.
  • Read blueprints and inspect work and check tolerances.
  • Make precise measurements using precision measuring instruments such as: Micrometers, verniers, gauge blocks, dial bore gauges, depth gauges, comparators.
  • Maintain machine(s) as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area in keeping with 6S initiatives.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Required Skills:

  •  Ability to lift to 35 pounds.
  • Attention to detail and process oriented.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and questionable conditions to supervisor.
  • Good Hand/eye coordination
  • Moderate physical effort is required.

Experience:

  • Two to Five years
