Position Summary:

Level Three: Level three mechanics work under minimal supervision to perform turret/spindle alignments, PM tasks such as trouble shoot lubrication system, hydraulics, bar feeders, etc. trouble shoot controls, issues etc., able to diagnose and repair most any NC mechanical issues; pull and replace ball screws, hydraulic and pneumatic issues. Able to complete any task given related to facility maintenance demonstrating expertise in plumbing and general carpentry and numerous tasks involved in facility related issues. Demonstrating the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, while serving as either a mechanical or technical SME.  Typically, 6-10 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Mechanical-Able to diagnose and repair most any CNC mechanical issues such as turret and spindle alignments, pull and replace ball screws, hydraulic & Pneumatic issues, and most any mechanical issues.
  • Electrical: Able to read and understand electrical drawings ladder logic/relay logic and use in troubleshooting.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance according to schedule.
  • Able to identify electrical components such as relays, micro switches and proximity sensors.
  • Able to read and understand electronic drawings and use this information and troubleshoot various types of machines such as CNC lathes and mills, induction heaters and laser markers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose any NC control or servo drive issues.
  • Interface with manufacturers online tech support when needed.
  • Check functionality of machines worked after repair, maintenance and installation.
  • Assist Maintenance Level 4 for spindle stator rebuild axis linear guides and ball screws.
  • Perform carpentry work on permanent structures, office partition, panels, floors, office.
  • Perform facility worked, roof, electrical, waste area, ac/heater issues.
  • Plan and sequence of work operations to rebuild and functionality check all types of precision-built power machines tools (NC, lathes etc.)
  • Plan, layout and fabricate replacement parts for major rebuilding of precision-built machine tools were set up and operation of basic machine tools to exacting tolerances is required.
  • Fit and scrape bearings, fit and align spindles, columns, knees, tailstocks, ways and tables individually and in relation to each other.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • A high-level competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • A high-level knowledge of hand tools and mechanical application regarding nuts and bolts.
  • A high-level knowledge of part holding methods and procedures.
  • A high-level knowledge NC equipment and controls.
  • The ability to interact with computers and CNC controls at a high level.
  • The ability to interact and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems at high level.
  • The ability to read electrical and machine drawings and diagrams at high level.
  • The ability to perform complex Preventive Maintenance for all NC, lathes, etc. following equipment checklists and run a PM report with ball bar diagram.
  • Ability to lead and instruct low level maintenance.

 Required Experience:

  • This position requires high level experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as saws, drills and pneumatic tools.
  • 6-10 years’ experience

 Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
  • CNC maintenance training and certification

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.00 to $42.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 96 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
