Mission:

We are looking for an HR professional that is seeking a fast-paced high energy working environment. Our ideal applicant has a strong foundational knowledge of performance management, business practices, employment, labor law (BOLI), and proven experience working independently with limited direction and guidance and the ability to multi-task. This position works within the overall business operation and corporate framework to maintain an atmosphere conducive to open communication at all levels of the organization. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Independently provide support and council to our operations business partners on issues relating to company policy application, production expectations, performance management, management coaching and training, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide strong engagement with hourly and salary workforce in all areas by advocating for increased DEI initiatives, sharing responsibility for company objectives, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping to identify and solve problems, and fostering a culture of mutual respect.
  • Provide guidance on employment issues like ADA, FMLA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective actions, progressive discipline, and managing expectations.
  • Foster an environment of learning and growth within the HR organization where people at all levels can support each other and strive to achieve personal and professional progression, and better provide support to the operations workforce.
  • Continue to foster and improve a culture of trust between the hourly workforce, operations department, and HR by assisting with retirements/anniversaries, pay discrepancies, leave management, time and attendance, benefits programs, orientation, exit interviews, and career progression.
  • Support recruiting efforts including the participation and planning of hiring events both internal and external to the company to best meet production goals.
  • Provide Support to Safety department through investigations, implementing initiatives, and facilitating communication between all levels of the organization.
  • Screens, and participate in interviews for all positions for their business operation.
  • Conducts exit interviews for their organization.
  • Provides input to employees concerning their career goals and assists in the development of those goals.

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Bachelors or MBA degree in Human Resources or Business or equivalent, with an emphasis in HR, minimum of 5-6 years generalist experience.
  • SHRM / HRCI certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and a broad general understanding of the business function.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal and State Labor and Employment laws, ADA, EEOC laws and regulations, as well as; WorkDay, ADP and AbsenseTracker as well as Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • General knowledge of the personnel function, emerging HR trends, and familiarity with all areas of sound HR practices.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
  • Previous successful management or staff experience required.
