Essential Functions
- Initial equipment set-up and installation
- Follow standard manufacturing and operating procedures
- Strong learning aptitude required-75% of the knowledge required must be learned on the job
- Must develop an understanding of basic “high vacuum” and “powder” technologies
- Perform pre-operative equipment checks.
- Set up and operate the powder equipment as directed.
- Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Loading material
- Pumping down/pressurizing the furnace
- Operating data logging instrumentation
- Measuring and recording process data
- Melting
- Unloading powder
- Screening powder to size
- Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of furnace and powder related equipment
- Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of Clean Room equipment
- Packaging powders
- Ability to understand basic chemistry specifications and interpret equipment conditions is required
- Must be able to interpret video monitors, gauges, meters, etc. while operating the furnace
- Maintain operating records and logs
- Maintain material and maintenance needed lists
- Clean out furnaces during maintenance cycles and replace damaged components.
- Operate leak detectors
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required; Trade school or additional training preferred.
- 3 years working experience in a relevant environment preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined and possess basic math skills.
- Must be good at following instructions
- Must be capable of working in a group
- Must be able to work any schedule, holidays and weekends
- Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds
- Forklift, crane-operating experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to think quickly and take action
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Strong learning aptitude required
