Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator oversees assigned programs from beginning to end – from sale to shipping and after-market support. Manages the operational aspects of ongoing programs and serves as liaison between program management and planning, program team, and line management. The Program Coordinator will ensure that program activities will meet all customer, corporate, divisional, regulatory, and statutory requirements. Reviews status of program and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assesses program issues and facilitates integrated team resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Monitors program progress, assesses and mitigates risk, and solves problems. Integrates and communicates status with integrated program team, management, and customers. The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Management Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and/or facilitate customer/program relationships from contract award through life cycle of a program
  • Coordinate and implement program milestone and delivery schedules incorporating customer, supplier, and internal delivery dates
  • Coordinate with Planning, Production Control, Procurement, Quality, and New Business/Estimating during program start-up to develop and communicate plans
  • Coordinate work-around and expediting plans internally and communicate progress with team members, customer, and management
  • Lead regular project team meetings to discuss progress, identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks, collect status, communicate changes and urgent needs, and encourage cross-functional cooperation
  • Manage contractual commitments and identify cost issues to meet expected program margins
  • Manage customer interface, host visits, and travel occasionally
  • Conduct "lessons learned" activities and provide process improvement feedback internally and to customer
  • Manage customer portals (reporting,downloading data,alerts,etc.)
  • Involved in preparing and delivering Program Management Review presentations
  • Create job estimates for existing or potential customers
  • May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Proactive communicator with analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate needs & solutions across functional areas and various levels of management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and applicable customer portal systems)
  • Excellent customer service ability
  • Able to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and costs
  • Written communication and high reading comprehension skills, particularly as it relates to customer contracts and purchase orders or purchasing agreements
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing work area practices including 6-S, and continuous improvement processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly processes, products, customers, and supplier interfacing principles is a plus

 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant field preferred
  • 1 to 5 years directly related experience, preferably in Aerospace or Manufacturing.
  • Any similar combination of education and work experience.
