Selected candidates for this Level 1 Masking Hub Operator position will learn tasks and techniques to perform masking and other support functions specific to the NDT (Penetrant) department. Level 1 Masking Hub Operators will be expected to perform simple masking of required part features with appropriate masking materials (such as tapes and plugs) to protect the areas from processing, mainly from penetrant etching applications. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. The candidate will be reviewing shop travelers to determine the operational requirements and verification of completion of previous operations. Maskers will be expected to work with a variety of masking materials, tools (such as razor blades), and solvent cleaners. Other essential functions required of a Level 1 Masking Hub Operator will be to validate part cleanliness, damage free surfaces, and part configurations. Although not a requirement at this entry level, reading of aerospace blueprints is a desired skill of applicants applying for this position. Opportunities will arise in this position to become familiar and trained to reading aerospace blueprints. As a condition of assignment, Level 1 Masking Hub Operator candidates may be expected to access information and product controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations. As such these candidates may be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, Legal Permanent Residence or protected status as a Non-Citizen National of the U.S.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company’s commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Wears and maintains proper personal equipment (PPE).
  • Cut or tear tape, vinyl plugs to specified size as required per job specification.

Proper use of masking tools such as razor blades, wire cutters, insertion tools, pliers, etc.

  • Read the work order instructions from traveler or other job related documents and process the jobs exactly as instructed.
  • Physically working with hands to accurately mask certain surfaces of parts to protect from the finish process applied utilizing tapes or other masking materials.
  • Working with and around solvent cleaners and paint materials such as acetone, alcohol, MEK, paints, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all the times.
  • Work independently or as a team member as required by job.
  • Working in fast paced environment under pressure to meet Production and Quality goals.

  • Basic computers skills involving scanning work orders and looking up tech cards.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, & divide).
  • Although not a requirement, ability to interpret aerospace blueprint drawings (identifying flag notes, rotation view and confirm tolerances) is desired.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20 to $22 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
