AlloyWorks operates a state-of-art plasma cold hearth melting furnace to consolidate titanium casting revert and prime raw materials. AlloyWorks’s plasma cold hearth furnace is the largest producer of titanium aluminide alloy which is used in the newest commercial jet engine designs. This alloy is the first titanium aluminide to enter commercial jet engine service and is also the first titanium alloy cast product in the low pressure turbine section of the engine. TIMET (Titanium Metals) is a company in Precision Castparts Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

AlloyWorks, a TIMET operation, produces titanium alloy ingots for aerospace, military, medical and industrial applications and has been operating in Salisbury, NC since 2006.

The maintenance technician will conduct day to
day maintenance and preventative maintenance operations on all AlloyWorks’s
production equipment and plant facilities. 
Their responsibility is to ensure safe and productive operations,
minimize downtime to facilitate in delivering products that meet customer and
quality requirements on time.  

Must adhere to safe working policies and procedures

Actively participate and support safety initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA (federal and state), company, and environmental policies and procedures

Plant mechanic with focus on preventative and repair maintenance on production machinery, motors, conveyors, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Some welding required.

Install parts/instruments according to schematics or operation manual

Follow blueprints, sketches, job requests, code book or operation manuals

Maintain records of PM and unscheduled maintenance work

Order parts or supplies when necessary

Assist production as necessary to maintain through put

Assist production as needed with equipment set-ups or root cause analysis

Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives

Coordinate maintenance activities with management and production team to maximize utilization of plant equipment and operating efficiency


High School graduate

Maintenance in a manufacturing/production environment Experience 4+Years

Welding, and oxygen/acetylene torch experience

Mechanical aptitude for assembly/repair

Electrical system experience

Troubleshooting/root cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Ability to teach and train good practices/lessons learned to other employees

Individual must have good basic communication (reading, writing and verbal) skills so as to take and offer direction with coworkers and management
