Objective: Belt grind parts to tech card tolerances with out part mutilation and at acceptable rates to meet department goals.
Typical Activities:
A. Review tech cards and belt grind parts to required tolerances while applying pre-determined best practices.
B. Work with part engineers, trainers, supervision and other operators to help establish best practices and to reduce manufacturing costs.
C. Performs other departmental and team tasks as directed by supervision.
Inspection
Objective: To assure compliance with belt grind technique cards and to meet customer specifications.
Typical Activities:
A. Verifies dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers, and similar types of dimensional inspection devices.
B. Provides assistance/training to other operators in the Department as required by the lead or supervisor.
- Basic ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations is required.
- Ability to use and read dimensional tools including calipers, gauges and micrometers is preferred.
- Ability to read, interprets, and follows specifications on Tech Cards and Process Control Procedures.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing and the ability to continuously or repetitively maneuver objects weighing as much as 80 pounds. Lifting requirements are also a consideration but weights in excess of 35 pounds should be handled using the assistance of other operators and/or appropriate lifting devices.
- Ability to work in difficult working conditions. These may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, awkward physical positions and other elements for extended periods of time.
