Material Movement Coordinator Summary

Responsible for order schedule adherence and customer status support, shipment and on-time forecast, inventory control, TOC reporting and other activities, material processing and goods issuing, and other production/material movement duties as required. Safely producing quality product, cost effectively with excellent service to both external and internal customers.

Essential Functions

Administration support.  Process travelers and other documents required in operations and shipping.  Direct activities of material movement clerks as needed. 

Schedule adherence to customer commitments.  Provide status reports and feedback to customers in written and/or verbal communication.  Based on product line responsibilities review schedule adherence and as necessary provide updated and re-promised delivery information.  Oversee and be responsible for product from material launch to final shipment.

Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly on time forecast and shipment forecast by product line responsibility.  Minimal variation with the accuracy and predictability required. 

Be responsible for inventory control of intermediates, non-conforming, deviant, work in process and prime finished goods inventories.  Monthly reporting requirements accuracy with SAP, timeliness of dispositions, coordination among functions, and MRB Team support and activities.

Support Theory of Constraints activities, reports, meetings, etc.  Drum-Buffer-Rope, cycle-time analysis and control, throughput charts, team meetings, etc.

Material control with launching metal on-time (Ingot to buffer positions), extra operations, recommend conversion off-loading as required to support schedule requirements.

Analysis of lead-time and support of initiatives for improvement.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Support the development and application of the appropriate performance metrics that will promote long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with the operating objectives of the department.

Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.

Qualifications

Competencies

General knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in manufacturing of titanium extruded products.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Computer skills and the ability to advance those skills as required

Education and Experience

Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Management, Logistic, or Operations or equivalent experience. 

Special Skills

Working knowledge of principles of TOC/Lean Manufacturing

The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
