Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines.  Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.
Located in South Gate, Dickson Testing Company, Inc. is a full-service destructive testing laboratory serving aerospace and metallic producers worldwide. Our laboratories serve our customers with metallurgical, mechanical, corrosion, and chemical testing services. In support of these services our facility provides complete specimen fabrication, cut off services and heat treat capability.

3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced, materials testing laboratory and/or aerospace environment.

 

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial material/metal testing laboratory by performing the following duties.

    • Ensures compliance to NADCAP, ISO17025, and related standards.

      Streamlines processes/procedural workflows within the QMS.

      Strategically assists quality process improvement projects.

      Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals, NADCAP, ISO17025, and company quality records.

      Identifies risks/failure mode projects through FMEA.

      Develops/implements Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) plans.

      Reviews customers’ purchase orders, contracts, and specifications.

      Oversees internal and external calibration schedules.

      Reviews and approve calibration reports.

      Performs failure analysis, and reviews nonconforming testing.

      Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.

      Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.

      Perform internal audits.

      Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.

      Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.

      Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

      Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.

      Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.

      Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.

      Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Experienced with lean principles and problem-solving skills, including 8D, Lean, 5 Why's Pareto Analysis, FMEA, etc.

Experienced in internal audit per NADCAP and ISO17025.
