PCC Structurals is the world leader in superalloy, aluminum and titanium investment casting.  With applications in jet aircraft engines, airframes, industrial gas turbine (IGT) engines, military armaments, medical prosthesis, and many other industrial markets, we provide a wide portfolio  of high-quality components, some as large as 100 inches (250cm).

PCC Structurals also provides solidification modeling, in-house rapid prototyping (including SLA), digital radiography, hot isostatic pressing, precision machining and protective coating services. We operate 11 manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe.

Located in the beautiful city of Portland Oregon, PCC Structurals Wax Center is a fully owned subsidiary of PCC Structurals, Inc. We are a full-service provider of wax and plastic-wax investment casting patterns used in both commercial and military applications. PCC Structurals Wax Center is currently holding ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Our expertise in both wax injection and plastic-injection molding positions us as a key supplier to all PCC facilities in the Oregon Region. We have a vast knowledge and expertise in various areas including dimensional, cleaning, and pattern assembly.

Assembles patterns by fastening components, parts and sub-assemblies using basic tools and standard work instructions and additional lead duties. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks on time. Verifies the results of assembly by inspecting their own work and the work of others.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.  
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Keeping morale and quality communication between team members
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Accountability of workmanship with minimal rework documented and continues to show standardized work practices.
  • Achieving the standard of “mentor” and help develop Wax Assemblers into progressing into a higher level of skill set.
  • Able to complete inspections on parts and complete all required quality documents.
  • Help provide new and improved methods, and skills to better achieve results to the company’s standards.
  • Acknowledgment of accepting more responsibilities to keep floor flow at a continued process to meet deadlines for shipment plans. 
  • Continue motivation of improvements and growth within the company.
  • Respectfully takes direction from leadership.

Lead Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains daily and weekly production output to meet the production plan and minimizes scrap.
  • Ensures outgoing patterns meet or exceed standards. Enforces work standards per company policy
  • Ensures proper training of direct reports. Determines standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel assigned.
  • Takes initiative on problem solving efforts.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and ensures operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems are resolved to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Ensures documentation of standard operational and working practices is followed
  • Collaborates on development and implementation of the structures and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its growth.
  • Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined, understood, and executed.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster aid promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred but will train the right candidate
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • This position require some computer skills.
  • Ability to speak Vietnamese is a plus
