In this role, the employee will have ownership over the introductory process on specific families of product, will work with sales and the customer to ensure requirements are met, and will work with both Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to ensure the necessary process controls exist for manufacturing. Also, in this role the employee will use project management tools to track the implementation of these products as strategic projects. In cases where testing or product validation is required, the Product Engineer I will support the development of test plans and will coordinate/track status of the testing in the Engineering R&D Lab team.
  • Introductory product lifecycle management – from customer through manufacturing onboarding of new product
    • Working with the customer to define CTQ characteristics and product application requirements
    • Creating, or supporting the creation of, test plans or statements of work to validate that product will meet customer requirements through coordination with the Engineering R&D test lab
    • Working with the Sales team to ensure the correct items are identified and that internal Engineering requirements are understood prior to order entry
    • New Product Introduction (NPI) and Item setup in the ERP system
    • Internal manufacturing drawing creation/coordination and creation of process specifications, if required
    • Defining Key Characteristics for process controls during first-time product manufacturing and setup/coordination of SPC Plans with the Mfg. Engineering team to ensure customer requirements are met
