Lead and direct all functions in the all departments enable the team to safely and profitably manufacture products which meet customer expectations in quality and delivery. Responsible for the results and continuous improvement in safety, cost, quality, delivery, and empowerment. Lead world class manufacturing efforts in a high-performance product team environment. Lead, train and facilitate effective communication within Polishing and tube production teams.
Essential Functions
- Support the Company’s vision with resources and an organization which is designed, motivated and trained to implement the strategies needed to support a world class manufacturing function.
- Promote a culture of empowerment and team building between peer groups such as quality, engineering, other production teams and sales.
- Lead culture change in order to improve and sustain overall plant performance and profitability.
- Support the installation of key production metrics and performance measurements. Utilize visual management tools to inform teams about production and performance.
- Support strategy and help with the implementation of plans to ensure the plant’s long-term viability, productivity, and profitability, in conjunction with corporate strategy and plans.
- Use and support business practices that encourage and support fairness, openness, and trust between employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Mentor, lead, train and support team with other functions in order to improve communications, utilize best practices, new technologies, and product improvements.
- Lead team operations in order to achieve production goals.
- Lead, select, develop, and motivate the team’s personnel in order to optimize the team’s productivity, profitability, quality and human resource assets.
- Support health, safety and environmental protection initiatives to ensure the safety of all employees, company assets, and environment and regulatory compliance.
- Assume responsibility for the management of all aspects of the production operation ensuring that equipment and supplies are available and in good working order to meet production, cost and quality requirements.
- Serve as a proactive thinker whose skills contribute to the efficient, systematic and profitable operation of the team’s production yielding quality products
- Strive to implement strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement
- Plan and manage the schedule for the equipment, production flow, and overall working schedules to meet process requirements, quality and delivery schedules.
- Responsible for managing the employment and training of production staff and leads the development of skills of personnel.
- Oversee the execution and implementation of the department and Company policies, systems, and procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in company-wide 6S efforts.
- Maintain vigilance for export compliance.
- Contribute to efforts to maintain/improve the Quality Management System.
Education and Experience
Education: College degree or equivalent preferred. Advanced degree in Business Administration or Engineering is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years with progressively increasing management responsibility in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated competency and a drive for root cause analysis is required. Experience operating in a lean enterprise and/or high-performance work team environment is preferred. Needs to be a change agent capable of installing a culture focused on results, continuous improvement and trust/respect
Other:
Able to read and write English. Spanish fluency is a plus.

Effective use of teams. Customer oriented; metal working industry knowledge desirable; safety management; quality management; team-oriented organizational skills. Should be results oriented and driven by metrics. Use of computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.
Competencies
Thoroughly familiar with all aspects of stainless steel and titanium tubing production.
